Wales Concordat for Regulation, Inspection and Audit

On 12th May 2005 the Welsh Assembly Government published the Concordat between Bodies Inspecting, Regulating and Auditing Health and Social Care in Wales. This document sets out 10 objectives for identifying and implementing actions to support the improvement of health and social care services for the public, and to reduce the burden of inspection programmes on front line staff.

The Wales Health and Social Care Concordat builds on the collaboration which already exists between the inspecting, regulating and auditing bodies in Wales and has 10 principal signatories and 5 associate signatories:

There is close working between the English and Welsh implementation programmes.  The Wales Concordat Implementation Plan that sets out how the objectives will be achieved will be published in December 2005.
