Information sharing protocol (ISP)
To support joint working, information collected and held by inspecting bodies may need to be shared with partner organisations. Sharing information enables inspecting bodies to fulfil their respective functions, maximise the benefits of inspection and reduce the overall burden of regulation on health or social care providers. In most cases, separate Information Sharing Agreements will support Memoranda of Understanding. The Healthcare Commission has developed a generic Information Sharing Protocol, the purpose of which, is to provide a framework to facilitate the sharing of appropriate information between bodies responsible for inspecting health or social care providers.
