Associate signatories

Associate signatories are those organisations, or constituent members (if an associate body) that:

  • may not directly undertake inspection, audit or review of health or healthcare in England but whose work (or work of its members) is (or would wish to be) closely associated with the principles and objectives set out in the Concordat; and
  • are willing to support the implementation programme, so can support the Health and Social Care Inspection Forum and the implementation groups/teams, and offer the potential to second staff or provide leadership for specific projects, but only to a limited extent; and/or
  • are prepared to be called to account by the NHS and the independent sector against the principles and objectives set out in the Concordat, but are not required to complete the annual review template (although would be encouraged to do so).

All members will be given access to any resources, tools and best practice templates provided/developed by the Concordat members, and will be encouraged to place visiting data on the scheduling site. The Healthcare Commission will support new signatories by hosting an initial Concordat event and also by providing material introducing the Concordat to staff.
