Talking to service users to resolve issues or concerns
During its visits the MHAC talks in private to service users and aims wherever possible to resolve issues or concerns on the day of the visit. Between 1 October 2004 and 30 September 2005, Commissioners met with 5726 patients detained under the Act.
Running patient and staff conferences
The National Audit Office organises 1-2 conferences a year to disseminate the findings in its reports for example in 2005 it reinforced the recommendations made in its suite of cancer reports by running conferences for patients and staff and feeding the outputs into the Cancer Action Team plan.
