Practice 1.3 Share information with other bodies
Examples of notable practice:
Formalising information sharing arrangements
The Healthcare Commission has developed a generic information sharing protocol. The protocol is designed to underpin the development of bilateral information sharing agreements.
Sharing information
The Audit Commission will share the outcomes of two aspects of its local audit work - the Auditor Local Evaluation (ALE) and the use of resources score, with the Healthcare Commission for use in the new Annual Healthcheck. The AC and the HC are strengthening the relationships on the ground to ensure that there is a shared intelligence around the assessment process so that all audit and inspection work is based on a common understanding of the greatest risk and improvement issues.
Annual health check
The cross-checking process that forms part of the Healthcare Commission’s new Annual Healthcheck uses a range of information sources.
